Men are Better than Women

June 30th 2006 01:57
I’m sure that I can claim to have found the most entertaining site in the entirety of the worldwide web. Meet MenAreBetterThanWomen.com and its creator Dick Masterson. Dick would have to be one of the most twisted forms of the male species, I can only imagine that at some point in the past a woman must have really nailed his balls to the ball over something, because there is some serious gender hating going on. Of course as a callous cruel female, its my birth right to have a hearty laugh at this man’s misery and expense. Anyway, ignoring Dick’s declaration, “No women allowed…. Ladies as always, this site is totally off limits.” There will be not secret men’s business about this site. Its into the murky depths of a twisted males psyche and perculiar methods of rationalism.

The world according to Dick;

Rate the Eye Candy

June 28th 2006 00:05
So apparently these are some of the hottest boys going around on Myspace these days. I donno, they all seem a bit young and babyfaced for me and the posing shots do nothing for me. However, cast me back into year 10 and I’d probably be drooling all over these fellas. I guess my favourite would have to be the indie looking Music Will Save Us – he had a bit of facial hair happening. I tend to favour those ratty looking indie boys more than the prep, Ralph Lauren types.

Hot Or Not

June 27th 2006 01:33
I re-stumbled across this website today after totally forgetting about and not having visited it in years. I remember spending afternoons emailing and the next day comparing the latest Hot or Not additions with my friends over lunch break. Yes, the boring, unfulfilling lifestyle of a teenager with only the internet and Beverly Hills 90210 for entertainment. So anyway, I flicked through Hot or Not out of sheer nostalgia. Could any of my teenage heart throbs still be clocking up the votes after all these years? Had they updated their photos? Could I actually remember any of my teenage heart throbs? Unfortunately not.

I must say, HotorNot has become decidedly smutty since used to frequent the site. The homepage is spread with semi naked women in garish positions. See exhibit A

Celebrity women can provide some of the most entertaining cat fights over celebrity males. The love triangle that has developed between Heather Locklear, Denise Richards and Ritchie Sombora has polarized gossip mag devotees. Now, it is possible to track the public opinion based on devotee garments. Enter Team Heather and Team Denise t shirts. These tees are selling like hotcakes. At first Team Heather was in the lead with store stocks of Team Denise piling up. However, now that Denise has copped a fair slamming from the paparazzi and gossip columns, Sambora has vacated the disaster zone and Denise is looking decidedly anorexic, it appears that public sentiment is shifting back towards Denise. It could also have a lot to do with the horrendous photos of Heather Locklear and Dave Spade in scant beachwear that have recently graced magazine articles.

Dating Ideas - Even More

June 22nd 2006 00:14
10) Make a date at the zoo – A wander around the zoo can make for a pleasant change of scenery. Almost everyone like animals, a zoo is a safe bet for a more unusual date option. Zoos run plenty of activities to attract visitors, some have nocturnal openings, live shows and offer the chance to touch or hold the animal. Be sure to mimic the animals, goof about and behave like big kids.

11) Go to a day spa – Following the rise of the metrosexual male, guys going to day spas is no longer the taboo, unblokey thing to do. Indeed, the uber male is now expected to take some sort of notice of their personal hygiene and grooming requirements. Several day spas, resorts and beauticians offer partner spa packages. Both can you and your partner can indulge in a massage and personal pampering package at the same time. There is something to be said for both you and your mate to be feeling equally clean, preen and revitalised. It sort of gets you both on the same wavelength. The dual day spa packages can be well on the pricey side compared to other dating ideas. However, when it is time to splash out, such as an anniversary, a shared day at the spa could be a perfect way to feel like royalty and enjoy eachother’s company.

Even More Fun Date Ideas

7) Get back to nature – A stroll and picnic in the wilderness is a nice way of unwinding with your partner. It would have to be one of the cheapest forms of entertainment and can keep a couple occupied for the entire day. There are national parks throughout Australia and they are easily accessible from the major cities. Athletic types can try biking, rowing, kayaking or hiking through the paths and trails. This is a great way of getting a daily serve of exercise, fresh air and quality time spent with your partner. For the more passive types a simple leisurely bushwalk can bring a breath of fresh air to any date. Pack a small picnic lunch, find a secluded area and enjoy some quiet time together. If a national park is not convenient, a small picnic in a local park can be just a refreshing. Try a botanical garden. The Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney provide an expansive area to sit, lunch and chill. There are plenty of nice vantage points with views of the Harbour where you can watch all the activity and beauty of the Sydney Harbour.

8) Rock climbing – Indoor rock climbing is a brilliant couple sport. There’s that element of trust and team work as you help each other scale the wall. As it is indoors, there is never a problem with nasty weather. It is a superb workout and can help with strength and muscle definition. Furthermore, it gets those exercise endorphins buzzing. All factors considered rock climbing is a good couple mood activity. Most rock climbing centres will allow you to hire any necessary equipment and the prices are reasonable. If you’re both new to the sport, you can take group or private lessons to get started and it is very quick to pick up the basics required to start scaling. Centres have different grades of walls to scale as you improve you can up the ante and try a more competitive wall.

4) Wander through a gallery – There are a stack of galleries and exhibitions located throughout the larger cities of Australia. As kids we were often dragged to them on school excursions, rekindle the inner child, get cultured and make a dating with you and your mate to the local gallery. There are a plethora of exhibitions and galleries out there so the old, “paintings are not my thing” is really no excuse. Look for an exhibition that both you and your partner will enjoy, something that touches on common interests. Try a photo exhibition, contemporary art, museums or independent galleries for inspiration. There is no need for any art education and no one is going to look at you like some behemoth, uncultured slob. It is actually a great way of connecting and communicating with your partner. You get to discuss what each of you like, dislike and share an appreciation of creativity.

5) Enroll in a course – There are community colleges and organizations located throughout Australia that offer short term courses in a huge variety of activites. Typically, the courses will run for a few hours per week and generally at times to fit in with people shackled to the working week. The activities and courses offered are limitless and relatively affordable. Computer training, business, pottery, swimming, yoga, drawing, sculpture, dancing, history, cooking and political discussion courses are just a small selection of what is typically offered. Pick something that you and your partner have an interest in or would like to learn more about. Doing a course together is a great way of bringing a couple closer together as they share and learn together. It gives you something common to discuss, share ideas about and part-take in the fun as a couple.

Fun Date Ideas

June 19th 2006 01:43
This week I'm dedicating my posts to a list of fun dating ideas. Some are good ideas for new or first dates, others can be good for spicing up a stable relationship. Eitherway, I hope they give all the couples out there some ideas for fun activities other than the boring, generic options. Enjoy.

1) Check out the live music scene – You don’t need to spend a ridiculous amount of money to see some quality musical showcases throughout Australia. Smaller venues will host new up and coming bands and there are plenty of styles and genres to choose from. To find local gigs in your area try searching Citysearch, FasterLouder or Liveguide Australia. These sites give good coverage of many live gigs happening in all major Australian cities and some regional centres.

Lets face it, you can be drop dead sexy, but if you are a culprit for bad dating techniques don’t be expecting the good looks to be holding onto dating success in the long term. Now, not all women are made equal and all are going to have different perspectives, opinions and sensitivities. However, the ideas discussed should provide a good overview of where you’re dating technique may be going astray. These are six points which might help you figure out where you are going wrong. The advice is provided by Don Diebel, an American dating advisor.

Lavalife is run via the Ninemsn network and is one of Australia’s most popular dating websites. There’s an abundant amount of users with the site reporting 100,000 current active users. When yu join, you specifiy which community you want to belong to, depending on the type of relationship you are seeking. It may seem less charming, but it gets to the point and cuts out the need to deal with people who are heading down a different relationship tangent.

Welcome to the world of videostreamed posts for the personals blog. (Well, I find it exciting that this is the first post with some embedded video streaming... cheers to me).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this short little clip, its pretty funny. A seemingly average German couple are acosted on the streets by some crazy woman who proceeds to ask them when they last had sex, with whom and where. The results are hilarious.

The Juice on Office Slap'n'Tickle

June 2nd 2006 00:13
Well its time to come clean of my experience with dabbling into the world of co-worker slap and tickle.

What can I say, I was the final year university student on work experience. I was the only female in the office, in a highly male dominate industry. My weakness was British accents. I’ve never been able to explain the accent fetish, it was a totally odd phase, but when I reminisce on those years practically all the guys I ever saw had a bloody Pommy accent. Hmmm, the quirks of youth, but I digress. So anyway, this was work experience and I decided it was high time to test the muddy waters of career prostitution. Exactly how high up the ladder could checking a run in my pantyhose take me? Unfortunately, that blasted Pommy accent fetish foiled my ploy.

When the Hanky Gets Spanky

June 1st 2006 01:11
Yesterday I took a bit of an introduction into office based relationships. They can be associated with danger and on a rational level are probably not the best form of relationship to get involved with. But, lets face it, the danger and excitement are what makes them so good. There are a few things negative aspects to bear in mind when you start mixing co-workers with bedding buddies.
