Porn and relationships

March 28th 2007 00:23
Pornography. The very word conjures up images of handle bar moustaches and wooden, ahem, acting. But while it's something that we all laugh at, it's a fact that the pornography industry is booming. So that means more people are buying it, watching it and looking for it and just how many purchases can acne-inflicted adolescents and dodgy brown mac-wearers make?

More than 25% of us have used the Internet from home to search for pornographic images. The other 75% are either dishonest or don't have access to the internet. Unsurprisingly, the most prolific visitors of online porn are students.

March 16th 2007 00:16
The first kiss can spark a great relationship. In fact, it is a big factor in determining if there is chemistry and lasting power, or if things are going to fizzle rather quickly. There are many ways that kissing can go terribly wrong, but most are easily avoided.

11. At the end of a first date comes that awkward moment when you must decide if you want to kiss her or not. If you are a lousy kisser, then you're going to be a failure at creating good chemistry between you and your date. Make sure your kissing technique is up to scratch!

Keeping the Passion Burning

March 12th 2007 00:32
It takes intentional work to keep any fire burning and that includes the fire in your relationship. What can you do to prevent passion burn out?

The worst thing one can do is to wait for the fire to start going out before you gather wood. This means that in advance, before things get cold, you have to store up time to get away, set aside a few bucks to go out to dinner or hotel, schedule baby sitters in advance, schedule vacations, plan special things for your anniversary, birthdays, valentines day etc. Sit down with each other; get a calendar and set aside dates that you both agree to keep no matter what. Put a Red Heart on those days; when life gets hectic and begins to suck the passion out of you, just looking at that heart can bring comfort and anticipation. Plan special surprise dates where each person is responsible for what is done and where you go without the other knowing in advance.

Japanese Love Hotels

March 9th 2007 00:31
Sushi, Zen gardens, all things kawaii may be all the rave in the Western world, but one of the more quirky Japanese inventions of all time has to be the love hotel. For decades Japan's love hotels have provided a place for couples to enjoy anonymous, uninterrupted sex. Politician and secretary, teacher and student, husband and hooker -- all are welcome, as long as they pay in cash and leave when the time limit is up.

It's a haven for many a Japanese bloke whose tired of taking his girlfriend back to his gaijin apartment with its half-inch plywood walls and nosy neighbours. A trip to a love hotel is like an adults only trip to Disneyland. Decorated with theme park interiors and equipped with game consoles, karaoke boxes and sex machines -- these establishments provide kinky fun for all types, from fetishists and sadomasochists to the ordinary couple seeking sexual adventure.

Getting Past A Breaking Up

March 6th 2007 00:02
Getting over a relationship takes time. But the hurt doesn't last forever. It's unlikely your mum, dad or an older friend is still pining for somebody they went out with 20 years ago. But the feelings they once felt for someone were probably just as strong as yours are now.

Unfortunately there is no magic trick to help you move on. Time really is a great healer and so the first few days and weeks are going to be the worst. Staying in and being miserable is a part of the healing process but try to avoid dragging it out to extremes.

More Than Friends?

March 5th 2007 00:51
You're best mates, you talk about everything, but what happens if you want to take that friendship further?

A solid friendship can be the best basis for a relationship. Knowing someone really well is a good start, but if you do go out with them the way your relationship works may change. If it doesn't work out, you might lose your best friend. Then again, if it does succeed it could be the best decision you've ever made.

Here are some suggestions of what not to do if you want a second date with the gorgeous spunk who's asked you on a hot date.

1. Ask him if you look fat. Lets face it, this is every man’s nightmare question and he wouldn’t tell you the truth anyway! Save this little idiosyncrasy of yours until he knows you better and accepts you and all of your shortcomings. You want to appear to be comfortable and self-confidant, even if you are finding it hard to breathe from sucking in your stomach all night.

Feng Shui in the Bedroom

March 1st 2007 02:08
This post follows on from the previous one where the concepts of feng shui were introduced and some general ideas about boasting the loving chi in your pad were covered. Today I focus on the specifics of the bedroom.

For a start, it should be well lit instead or dark and dreary. There should be no plants in the bedroom because plants will bring excess yang (male) energies to the bedroom which could increase his libido and cause a wandering and lustful eye towards younger women. There should be no TV’s and no mirror by the bed as they cause an intrusion within a relationship. Hang a rose quartz crystal over the southwest corner of your bed. When looking for love, feng shui-ists say a man should decorate with more yin (femininity) in mind while a female should decorate with more yang. This causes a healthy balance and will attract the opposite sex.
