When sober I’m a relatively reserved kind of girl. I’m not the touchy feely type. It’s not that I hate getting hugs and kisses or general physical contact. I just don’t need it, nor do I really think to initiate a random hug or kiss when in public. Some might consider me unaffectionate, I don’t think that is necessarily true. I just don’t feel the urge to go canoodling in public.
A few drinks under the belt and any claims of an unaffectionate character are most certainly thwarted. There is something about alcohol that triggers the amorous switch in me. Not that I think this is terribly unusual. It seems alcohol gets most men and women in the mood.
I can’t help but wonder what is it about alcohol that can cause such a shift in character. Why do we get so hot and bothered after downing a few drinks?
It’s no secret that alcohol does wonders for lowering inhibitions and raising levels of self confidence. This can explain in part why we feel the urge to share some body heat. If there is someone that I find attractive under sober condition, then the lowered inhibitions and raised self confidence under drunk conditions will boast my chances of making a move.
I’ve noticed that it doesn’t necessarily work this way. Often times I’ll be drinking and without any visual stimuli I’ll develop this urge for a wild roll in the sack. It’s almost like an animalistic instinct. A few more drinks and I’m a woman on the prowl. No man is safe in my presence. Well that may be an exaggeration, I’ve managed to stick to a standard and haven’t just grabbed whoever is putting out. My point is that alcohol seems to bring out the amorous side of my personality.
I turn the discussion to the Orble community. Do any other men or women get the mating urge when under the influence? What do you think triggers it? A simple case of lowered inhibitions? Natural instinct? A hormonal interaction? Why are we more open to sex after downing a few pints?

I hear you ! I think everything about us is totally relaxed by that point so that which makes up uptight and stressy during our sober hours falls by the wayside and we are up for anything. It`s not only sexual, but I also feel the need to dance on tables, sing really loudly (and think I`m GREAT), talk to random people, dance like I belong in a Jessica Simpson music video etc - all things I normally wouldn`t do.
They don`t call it Dutch courage for nothing!
