Another Runaway Bride

Last weekend hailed the annual London Marathon. Among the throng of costumed competitors were
Katie Austen and Gordon Fryer in full wedding attire. Halfway through the race, they took a breather and exchanged vows in what can only be described as a racey wedding. According to the Telegraph report,
"Miss Austin's parents, Tina and Bob, also ran and gave her away in the Bridge Master's dining room on Tower Bridge.
The groom and his father-in-law were kitted out in waistcoats, wing-collared shirts and cravats, while the bride wore a full length ivory wedding dress with train."
This recent story got me hunting for some other unusual weddings...
In LA there was a Halloween wedding for which the reverend was sent to a professional Hollywood makeup artist to be costumed and made up to look like a dead monk. The couple were then wed on the steps of Screams Haunted House. The ceremony was broadcast live on KISS FM radio.
For one couple who at the last minute decided that their child must be born in wedlock, there has been a wedding in a hospital maternity ward with the bride in labor.
And the creme de la creme of unusual wedding ceremonies would have to be a trip to Vegas. There you can get married by Elvis, atop a replica Effiel Tower, in a gondola, on a pirate ship or in the comfort of your on car, via a drive thru service. (would you like fries with that?)
