Gang of degenerates rapes woman for having a rainbow sticker on her car

Well, this is a dark, grim post on Personals, and has nothing to do with relationships, really, other than a warning that, even though we live in a relatively free world, there are still people that can't handle the idea of tolerance.
Like these jackasses, four men that attacked, robbed and then gang-raped a lesbian, who they identified by the rainbow sticker she had on her car window.
The rainbow sticker has been an object of some controversy, with members of the gay community loving it to death, or deploring the idea that it should be co-opted by the community. Then there are the angry heterosexuals, who feel robbed of the beauty of the rainbow.
I'm not much for symbols and heralds, but the idea of the rainbow is invigorating, I think... it's not for what it projects, but the significance of displaying it... the gay community has been underground for all of human history, essentially, and we're blessed to be living in a world where they can scream their orientation out to the world.
Here, in Sydney, the Mardi Gras becomes an event that lights up the entire city and has become so famous that international students pack the street, awe-gaping in disbelief that this could happen in the streets - and not in their home country.
The danger of proclaiming your orientation is obvious from the news story:
"Police allege that on Dec. 13, the 45-minute assault began at 9:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Visalia Avenue in Richmond's Belding-Wood neighborhood. After the woman was struck with a blunt object and robbed, the suspects then told her to disrobe, police said. She was sexually assaulted in that location and then forced back into her car after the suspects saw someone approaching. She was driven seven blocks away to the 1300 block of Burbeck Avenue, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted in her car, police said. She was left naked near a burned-out apartment complex, police said...
Investigators are pursuing the case as a hate crime because of comments the suspects made about the victim's sexual orientation. The woman is openly lesbian and had a rainbow sticker on her car, a symbol of gay pride. The case has already drawn national attention."

Such a tragedy, such an angry crime. Would they have committed the same crime that night, with a heterosexual woman? I don't know. Was it the rainbow that stimulated the crime? I don't know.
I don't know much, it seems... but the news of this crime fills me with such disappointment, as if I've given up hope in human society.
Be careful out there, kids.

My Turn
The men that perform these sorts of crimes have no self esteem and want to bring others down. They are intimiadated by a woman with inner strength and confidence and want to belittle her by over powering her in the only way they can.
It is horrible they should be locked up and never allowed out. So should the people who humiliated, bullied and possibly sexually assulated these guys when they were growing, and turned them into such monsters.
