The movie "40-year-old Virgin" was a smash hit, with Steve Carroll playing the role of a neat, fastidious 40-year-old clerk who had just never managed to have sex. He bottled his sexual frustration in, took a rein on it, and threw that energy out into the world of bachelordom.
We laughed, but it's hard to imagine a 40-year-old virgin, isn't it? Perhaps when I'm forty, I'll meet at least one.
This guy is 26 and a virgin, and he's desperate not to turn into the lead character of a comedy movie. He's resorted to posting an ad on Gumtree to see if he can find someone to remove his 'curse'...
I can understand his sense of panic... I've been through dry spells myself and, after a while, it begins to feel like you're giving off an odour of desperation, as if women can sense that other women don't desire you. That's ridiculous, right? Please tell me that women do not have that superpower...
My suggestion would be for this young lad and this 60-year-old woman to hook up and fulfill each other's needs.
It might turn out to be a "Harold & Maude" type situation, which would be jusssst right.
