Japanese campaign to allow people and manga characters to get married

Japan!
The land of the rising sun, and the place where kids buy costumes to dress up like American businessmmen, is the breeding ground for all kinds of hilarious, bizarre news stories, strange game shows and wacky products.
Game shows? Yes sir!
This week, though, over 1 000 people have signed a petition to allow marriage to comic book characters. They claim that they feel love for 2D cartoon characters, in a way that we can never understand:
"While single sex marriage is not permitted in Japan, the popularity of the cartoon-human unions was instantly apparent this week as more than 1,000 were enlisted to the campaign.
Among them, one supporter wrote: "For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love.
"Even if she is fictional, it is still loving someone. I would like to have legal approval for this system at any cost." "

Or, like in this YouTube video, truthfully labelled "Big Boobs Hentai", your busty partner spends her time at the beach, hanging around with other characters that have been unrealistically proportioned?
I can see why they'd want to get this legislation done, though - check out the list of the top 50 sexiest Cosplay characters...
