The Perfect Kiss
March 16th 2007 00:16
The first kiss can spark a great relationship. In fact, it is a big factor in determining if there is chemistry and lasting power, or if things are going to fizzle rather quickly. There are many ways that kissing can go terribly wrong, but most are easily avoided.
Going too fast
Be careful not to gett too swept away in the moment and startle the object of your affection. Watch and wait for a signal to proceed. If you aren't sensitive in your kissing, how empathetic and caring can you be about the rest of the realtionship. Sure there may be something sexy about passionately jumping someone. It screams desire. But it is safer to leave "jumping" a lover until you both know eachother a little better. Whilst you're still getting to know eachother, play it safe and moving in for the kisses as the mood builds.
Wet, sloshy, squishy, fishy
If you or the kissee need to wipe your lips, or chin, dry after the kiss something went terribly wrong. Kissing is not about salivatingly devouring your last meal.A sloppy kiss is more like sucking face with a St Bernard rather than a hot, steamy and sexy.
Aggressive, smothering kiss of death
Avoid the over-passionate, insensitive kiss that leaves the kissee gasping for air. Your kissee shouldn't need resucitation after you've finished with them. Going too hard into a kiss gives the impression of a selfish or dominant lover.
Chapped, dry lips
There's a delicate balance to lip moisture equation. Not too sloppy, not too dry... who said kissing was easy? The last thing you want to do is drool on your partner, but you definitely don't want to leave scars with crispy, chafed lips. Your lips should be nice and soft. Use a chap stick as a daily routine if you suffer from dry lips, but to avoid the greasy kiss, use a chap stick as a daily habit rather than smacking it on as a last resort right before an imminent kiss.
Too much tongue
Keep that tongue tucked away until you get the right signals, then apply with caution. Use it subtly, its not an invasive tool to start poking your lovers tonsils with. Be creative too. The same old back and forth motion is boring. Relax that tongue and explore cautiously rather than jumping in hammer and tongs.
