Overheard in Athens is a surprisingly hilarious website chronicling the overheard tidbits of comedy cold heard in Athens, Georgia.
The pure joy of the page is from the posts tagged under "Sorostitute", a portmanteau of 'sorority' and 'prostitute', indicating girls that are in college primarily to be in a sorority, meet guys and get drunk.
I don't remember college being like this at all, but I'm pretty happy that I never met any of the subhumans on this page.
Some gems:
'More smarter' is definitely wrong, but, to be honest, I've noticed that quite a few native English speakers make errors with adjectives. It's happened to me, as well, and I'll usually correct myself mid-sentence, proceeding to moan about my mistake.
So, that's not so bad. What about this:
These girls also seem to struggle with technology and, well, standard measurements...
It's an interesting read, though it'll make you cringe at the rampant underage drinking, the reckless sex, the insecurities, the selfishness and the overriding ignorance.
