Lets say that you are in Simone Warne's boots, would you be inclined to take back Australia's cricketing hero Shane. He's arsed you round on numerous occasions, he's possibly not the best role model for your kids. But at the same time, Shane can do no wrong. There is something universally likeable about Shane and the rest of the nation seems swift to forgive his transgressions... provided he keeps delivering stellar wickets.
If the rumour mill is to be believed Australia's ocker couple Shane and Simone Warne are heading for a reunion. Personally I think it was all a bit of a farse from the get go. The split sold a few stories for the glossy girly mags, but seriously Simone, could you really hold out on that Warne appeal? She was always coming back and now that he's touring days are over, one would think she'll be able to keep a closer eye on his phone and whereabouts.
Is James Packer upto a bit of matchmaking? The entire Australian cricket team was invited aboard James Packer's not-too-shabby motoryacht to celebrate their whitewash of the English in the recent Ashes test series. Partners of the cricketers were invited to join in the celebrations. Of course it would probably have been poor form for Warne to have invited on of his Pommy flings along. I doubt she'd be downing the canapes too comfortably as her team and country would undoubtly be the butt of many of the celebratory jokes. Nevertheless, the fact that Simone was on the invite list was an initial morsel signalling a reunion.
The real gossip monger was the fact that although the rest of the left the Packer boat at the conclusion of the celebrations, the two Warnes stayed aboard and were spotted having a romantic breakfast together the next day.
Its no surprise that Shane vying for a reunion. He's expressed his appreciation of Simone since their split and has described her as his rock. Shane's keen to rekindle the union, its up to Simone to forgive and kiss'n'make-up. It appears the glamour, celebratory mood and perhaps a few champers may have been the catalyst for a reunion.
Is it all just hot air and gossip mongering. Only time will tell. My gut feeling is that Shane and Simone will come to a reconciliation and for the sake of their kids I do hope that they can work out a happy, cohesive relationship and that this time round Shane can keep his bat'n'ball to himself and Simone. There certainly is some degree of trust and respect since their split as they've both admitted to living together since their seperation. Nor was there a big nasty public falling out after their split.
