The stores are decorated in candy hearts, flowers and bears. Every TV or radio commercial reminds you that it’s time to remember your sweetheart on this special day for lovers. Your feelings range from sadness, to revulsion to anger. What’s a single person to do?
The following are five suggestions that will help you have a good day. There's no point being cynical or barring yourself away from all those lovestruck lovebirds. Get out, have some fun and prove Valentines Day can be just as fun for a single as it can be for a couple.
1. Go to a day spa for “the works”
Valentines Day is a perfect time to indulge in a bit of self pampering. Book yourself in for a relaxing treatment with a local beautician or day spa and emerge looking radiant, refreashed and totally relaxed.
2. Plan a dinner with friends
Book a table and share the love with your closest single buddies. No one needs to feel unloved on Valentines Day. Its far better getting together and celebrating eachothers company rather than individually sitting at home lamenting about singledom.
3. Grab a friend and do something
Whether it be a trip to the movies, a walk to the beach, coffee, a shopathon. Getting involved with a close buddy on Valentine's Day will definately help in easying any lonley feelings.
4. Throw an Un-Valentines Day party
Host a party and invite all your single friends along for a night of tomfoolery. Throw a houseparty and make Un-Valentine the theme. If you can't get away from jaded thoughts about love, you might as well be able to laugh at them.
5. Go to a single/hook-up event
There are a whole lot of singles events held on Valentines Day. You never know, you might strike it lucky and find your Valentine before the night ends. The Desperate and Dateless Ball is held on Valentine's Day, not only is it a great way to be guaranteed to meet other singles, you'll also be supporting charity.
