Summer Loving Date Ideas
November 9th 2006 00:30
Now that Spring is truly in and summer is just around the corner it is time to emerge from the couch, pizza and movie dates and get into some seasonal warm weather dating. The day’s are longer which means that there are plenty of hours in the day to fit in some fun daytime activities to mix up your dates. These are a couple ideas that will be perfect for the warmer months.
1) Try couples gardening. Grab a gardening book or visit your local nursery to find out what plants are seasonal and get planting together. If a garden is a rare commodity for you or your partner try volunteering for a bush regeneration program in your local area and spend an afternoon planting trees and regenerating a local area. You’ll feel good about providing a great community service and it’s a great team building exercise for a couple. Plus, there’s nothing more exciting than getting dirty with your better half.
2) If the heat is getting to you cool off with some ice skating. It is an activity that counts towards your daily recommended exercise requirements. Plus it’s a fun nostalgic thing to do. When was the last time you’ve been ice skating, probably sometime during your teens. Even if you don’t know how to skate, give it a go. Its an opportunity to have a good laugh and giggle as a couple.
3) Take a surfing lesson. If you live on the Australian coastline it is a rite of passage that you should be adept in Australia’s rolling surf. If you’ve spent the winter time soaking in movies like Blue Crush, Step into Liquid and Point Break, its time to draw some inspiration and give surfing a go. Most major tourist beaches offer surfing lessons. If you’re a still student, you’ll mostly likely be able to pick up a cheap deal. The die hard fans can try a surfing safari. There are several operators that will take you on a tour of some of the best surfing beaching in the local area on a camping safari.
4) Grab a camera and head outdoors for a day of happy snaps and posing. Its always nice to have a collection of photos of you and your partner. Take a balmy day and make a point of visiting some of your favourite scenic spots for a photo shoot. The beach, a park, the place your first met, city icons, whatever delivers inspiration.
