The Heart Connection
May 22nd 2007 22:40
Have young women given up on making that heart connection? Have the movies, magazines and videos succeeded in convincing them that the only way they can find true love is by being as sexy as can be and making sure everyone knows it?
Yesterday, I was at the corner store and I was discussing this with my neighbour(the owner) We lamented about the state of youth, the way they dress, the early and oft changing relationships and the "public displays of affection". She said, "Why do they want a boy to want them for their body? You should want him to want you for your heart." Or something to that effect.
I thought about it for quite a while and ofcourse I agree. It's no big deal for a boy/man to want a woman for her physical attributes. That is the way they are wired. What women should really aspire to is making the heart connection. You want the man to love your heart, then appreciate your beauty. After he has earned your love then he gets to enjoy your "best parts". True?
Have women given up on making the heart connection? Are they afraid that they will be lost in the sea of sexiness out there? Is there too much competion for a woman to just be herself and expect to be appreciated for that? Let me know what you think.
