Top Turn Offs for Men 3/3

August 18th 2006 04:15
7) Extreme drunkenness.

There’s tipsy, giggly, drunk, staggering, vomiting and then there is extreme drunkenness. Alcohol can make and break first impressions. A couple drinks are a good way of lubricating the conversation with someone you are just getting to know. Miscalculate the number of drinks and your sex appeal will be heading to all new lows. I’ve heard guys whine about how horrible a drunk girl can be. “A drunk guy is bad, but a drunk girl is ten times worse.” I think the stakes are evenly placed anyone who gets ridiculously drunk is highly unattractive. When you get to the point of vomiting, having your friends hoist you from bars/taxis/sidewalks/home and your make-up is smooshed across your face, it’s a fair bet that you won’t be picking up anything worthwhile. By all means have a raucous time and drink up but be aware of your limits.

8) Love handles.

Apparently the guys like a little chub. A healthy body weight is attractive and little bit of softness and feminine curvature is hot. The line is drawn at anything that bursts over the beltline. I think the emphasis is more on ill-fitting clothing rather than actual body size. Don’t try and squeeze into something that is not your size, it’ll make you look larger. That muffin of flesh that can be pushed out from the top of your hipster jeans is apparently unattractive. There is a thin line, a little flesh is deemed sexy and plenty of guys will be unattracted to the protruding hip bone look. So I say keep it healthy and aim for a friand.

9) Baby talk.

The clucky talk and family planning schpeals can really turn a guy off. Its not that he doesn’t like or doesn’t want kids at some point. They just don’t want them when they’re in their 20’s. Kids and families equate to responsibility. When you’ve spent you teenage years fight to get some freedom from your family, the last thing on a guy’s mind is to settle down into urban life. Being a young adult is all about exploring and discovering who you are. Throw a baby into the equation and suddenly the party is seemingly over. Leave the family planning speeches for further down the track when the relationship is more serious. There’s no need to be telling a guy what you intend on calling your first born during a first date. Avoid pushing the issue if he’s not comfortable with the idea of kids. It’s one of the most annoying nagging topics.
